Mikasa sleeps forever after their arrival. How long exactly doesn't really matter but at least she doesn't really sleep for a week like she may have said right before passing the hell out. But that's norm-- ...Okay honestly, it's not normal even though it's not new for her to sleep a lot when she can. It may be one of her longest times sleeping ever but these happen sometimes after their long fights and she's here from right after one the worst battlefields of her entire life. ...So technically Jean is used to it, at least it's nothing to worry about when she keeps on sleeping as much as possible.
When Mikasa finally gets enough of sleeping, it's unsurprisingly from a nightmare with a jolt that makes her sit up before she's even really awake.
"E R E N!!!" That's the least surprising part. She looks around, taking a moment to wake up enough into the reality of not being back in the world of Titan Hell. Right. Empatheias, their new home that is a huge farmhouse and her head drops towards her knees with a sigh at the knowledge that she and Jean are the only people from there in this world. More people from there would absolutely deserve to be here.
Mikasa walks out of her new room and around the house. She's not a morning person, she'd gladly stay under the blankets for a long time even when this girl usually keeps running as part of her work out even in the morning... But she didn't want to say there for any longer now. She doesn't look into any mirrors or whatever, she knows what she looks like after so much sleep... But Mikasa's hair being an uncontrollabe, shaggy mess, her skin being pale and her face looking like she's still half-asleep make her kind of look like a zombie or something.
So, good morning, Jean as soon as she arrives to the kitchen to find him. He looks like he's about to start making food, she wonders if the sound of her waking up has anything to do with his timing for it...
"Mind if I take a shower or can I help with that?"

Jean has been making the house a bit more cozy while Mikasa's been sleeping to recover her strength. Of course he slept as well, but he required a lot less of it and he's honestly too full of different thoughts and emotions to actually sleep more than a four hours at a time. He kind of envied the way Mikasa slept... but then again, also not.
Hearing Mikasa wake up is definitely one reason he's preparing to make something for them both to eat. He'd gone out to get some ingredients once, but didn't stay away too long because he became too worried about Mikasa. But at least he managed to get basic ingredients. The kitchen equipment seemed to come with the house.
"Good morning. How about you-" he turns to look at Mikasa and freezes. Of course being him and hopelessly in love with Mikasa he imagined her look like the perfect maiden in the morning with her straight hair and everything and not this. He tries not to look too amused, but likely the sparkles around him give it away.
"Uh, how about you take a shower and then help me? You slept for a while so it'll help you... freshen up." He bursts into a small laugh. "Sorry, your hair is just... it's just very messy and... cute."

Mikasa looks so confused when Jean freezes. What? She glances behind her, giving the young man an even better look at the mess that is her hair. There's nothing.
Once she looks at him again, there are sparkles and Mikasa has no idea what those mean! Except they are clearly positive emotions, she doesn't need a translator to tell that.
Just when she is about to say something to his plan, he laughs and explains it all. Mikasa sighs with a pout but there is some blush on her cheeks. "It's not cute but take one last look I guess before I go fix it with that shower... That said, sounds like a good plan to me."
Here she almost thought that he would be inneed for a hug moooooood after hearing Eren's name, if he even heard it... So in a way she is also glad that her hair helps to make him laugh.
Mikasa gives him one more good look at it while she's leaving and then another while she is looking for a towel... Just to realize that they are obviously in the room where she is about to go, duh.
She looks over her shoulder at Jean one more time before she'll really go and collecting courage to say this before going may be the real reason why she isn't there yet...

There definitely would have been a similar situation if things were reversed. At least it's all done in good humor from both sides and they both know it.

Jean, Jean, Jean... It may be the best thing for her ever to be away from them, she just doesn't know it but it might certainly help to see anything else in the world around her. And maybe it would be great for her to move on from a certain someone, good luck with that though.
Either way, she's going to buy an outfit to him one day to thank for this but Mikasa doesn't say anything about that.

It's a thought he's not had yet, but one he might in time. Maybe then he will stop being focused on how he's not Eren or Armin and can't help.

She's not picky! But she could appreciate his way of thinking about what she wants if she ... cared at the moment anyway. Either way, she's done with chopping the veggies, she's bringing them closer to him and he can tell her where to put them.

"We could start making lists of things to eat..." It's just one idea... And yes, she puts the veggies in.
"Why not. We can increase it as we find new things that we enjoy." He continues to cook once the veggies are in. "It won't take too long so want to get the plates out?"

Mikasa wakes up on the other side of the bed to this new month and ... It's cold being there alone as if she's really far away from Jean. Why is she so far away from him anyway? Not like she can't easily fix that which is exactly what she is going to do!
The girl rolls over to Jean and instead of just hugging him, she's also cuddling even closer and nuzzling his chin. If he can feel the lightest touch of her lips there too that must be just his imagination, right? Her eyes are closed again either way, she's not ready to wake up yet but she sure is feeling like cuddling for a while.

Jean is not exactly awake, but not exactly asleep either - so when Mikasa comes closer he does notice it, even if he doesn't open his eyes. There's a light smile on his lips as she cuddles and nuzzles. This felt like a familiar dream. One that he's had many times. Though usually at this point there'd be small kisses exchanged... but not every dream is the same.

And then this morning she feels even more affectionate than usual... So after Jean cuddles her in return too, Mikasa waits for a moment before she kisses his cheek.... Then she kisses his other cheek and then his nose and chin too. They are tiny kisses but they really happen, she is not even sure if he is awake to know that, unsure of which one she hopes to be the answer.

It's normal for them, which is why it only became a dream for sure when he felt her lips. Mikasa looks so surprised when she hears that. She ... missed them intentionally. Not because she wouldn't want to kiss him or not because she doesn't want to know how kissing feels like in general!! She just tends to go really slow with everything and that doesn't sound slow... Or maybe she is too slow with how they have been getting closer and closer, it sounds like a natural next step sooner or later??? Also oh boy, she has done a lot of thinking but she hasn't really said much about it to him and she would probably have A LOT of explaining to do if she...
But Jean is looking at her like that and saying those words and it may be a good opening to everything... She is way too curious anyway.

She looks at him, all calm on the outside but her face is a fierce red like her scarf even before she leans closer and closer again. So close that this time she doesn't dodge them.
Jean gets a soft kiss to his lips. ...and Mikasa is not moving anywhere from there after that unless he tells her to leave.
The girl has no idea how this works, she has never kissed anyone before...!! Prodigy.exe has kind of stopped working if it ever even works in situations like this??? It sure as hell doesn't really work with her poor social skills or words or emotions most of the time, her heart is racing like it's trying to get out of where it is.

"Oh, uh, yeah." Jean blushes a bit over saying something so obvious. He silently focuses on finishing the food before delivering it over to the table.
Somehow, saying that always works in getting a kiss. Which is what he expects to happen, even in this very realistic dream. She looks very cute with the blush and Jean's smiling when she comes closer. He closes his eyes again when their lips touch.
Then she's not moving. He's not moving. Something is not quite right with this picture.
It then occurs him to think 'what if this wasn't a dream.'
Then he realizes that everything feels too real. The emotions, the changes in the area around them. This wasn't how a dream felt.
